Stephan Zuckerman, M.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Zuckerman is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been with the practice for over 20 years. He was initially drawn to ophthalmology because he believes it is a true holistic field within medicine that can also offer surgical care that changes lives. His daily motivation comes from the opportunity to help his patients.
Dr. Zuckerman stays updated in ophthalmology through collaborative learning with his team every day. He describes Connecticut Eye as being equivalent to an academic center. “When one learns, we all learn.” The most fulfilling aspect of Dr. Zuckerman’s work is receiving heartfelt gratitude from patients whose eyesight he has restored.
Research
Dr. Zuckerman has been working on ophthalmology clinical trials since 2002. He has worked on 26 studies, participating as a sub-investigator on them all. Some of the top studies he’s worked on include finding treatments for: neurotrophic keratopathy, presbyopia, dry eye disease, glaucoma, and many more. Dr. Zuckerman believes that research is very important and can help patients when other treatments have failed. He encourages patients to consider research studies, highlighting the potential benefits of cutting-edge treatments and contributing to societal advancements.
