Angela Smit, BS, CCRP

Angela brings over 25 years of clinical research experience in oncology and ophthalmology to Connecticut Eye Consultants. With both site and sponsor experience, she is able to understand multiple perspectives bringing a knowledgeable, seasoned, and steady approach to her leadership. Under Angela’s direction, the research department has grown to include a dedicated research suite with state-of-the-art equipment and 6 full time team members dedicated to ophthalmic clinical research.

Training and providing growth opportunities for her team and empowering them to meet their goals is one of Angela’s strengths. She enjoys engaging her team to consider the practical applications of ICH and FDA regulatory requirements while ensuring all studies are conducted according to study protocol and regulatory requirements.

Participants will find an ally in Angela. She is a good listener, effective problem solver, and her 17 years of ophthalmology experience allows her to help address many issues. Only together can participants, doctors, coordinators and sponsors solve today’s pressing questions to help advance our understanding of ophthalmic diseases and find effective treatments.
