Established in 1998, our ophthalmic clinical research department has built a distinguished reputation for excellence.
The CEC research department has conducted over 100 Phase I-III interventional clinical trials including a variety of eye diseases. We have collaborated with major pharmaceutical companies along with many BioPharma start-ups over the last 26 years.
All studies are performed with the highest integrity. We abide by the principles and ethics laid out by the Declaration of Helinski and Belmont Report. Supporting our patients and their best interests is integral in the care our practitioners provide within our research department.
A Team Dedicated to Excellence
Our 11 highly experienced ophthalmologists and 4 optometrists have clinical research experience. Three of our ophthalmologists that specialize in general ophthalmology, retinal, and glaucoma are also certified principal investigators. Our physicians bring a wealth of experience and longevity to their roles, ensuring the delivery of accurate and meaningful research results. Their subject matter expertise and commitment to quality is central to our department’s success. Additionally, we are appropriately staffed to offer our research participants a concierge experience, reflecting our dedication to providing exceptional care and support throughout their involvement in our studies.
Our research coordinators all have a working knowledge regarding FDA and ICH regulations. Two research coordinators are professionally certified, ensuring that all aspects of our research adhere to the highest industry standards. All research staff are also trained in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), allowing them to maintain the highest level of clinical integrity. In addition to their regulatory and procedural expertise, our coordinators provide exceptional care to each participant, balancing rigorous adherence to clinical protocols with a commitment to personalized, compassionate support.
